WATERCOLOR
“Lifeguard Tower”
 
Using the technique “wet-on-wet” pigment is applied to wet paper allowing the color to flow wherever it will forming new shades and unexpected patterns. Cover perspective in order to create the Lifeguard tower and shoreline.

TIE DYE  By using permanent markers and rubbing alcohol draw detailed images and add 
a tie dye effect on either T-shirts, scarves, socks or such. This is machine washable.

& white landscapes. Learn the history of SLR cameras and 
hand color images in a old fashion tinted method.

Reverse Painting 
on Glass Using a clear glass plate paint either a portrait or an image painting in layers doing the fine detail first and the background last. *Workshop: email a face photo if you prefer 24 hours prior.

Andy Warhol, Pop Art & Duplicate printing
Warhol worked on commercial advertisements and films. In our Camp: duplicate an image as in his silkscreen techniques and paint each in different colors. In the Workshop: create a portrait of our pet (email a face photo of pet 24 hrs prior)

COLLAGE  “Entangled Tree”  On 11”x14” wood board create your own interpretation of a entangled tree using dye cut leaves, tissue paper, recycled colored paper and acrylics.

B&W PEN and INK Drawing Using 
a fine point pen learn sketching techniques of cross-hatching, stippling and various forms of line widths. You will be taught the importance of contrast, shadows & highlights in order to create tone and texture.

CALLIGRAPHY and CHINESE Sumi-e INK PAINTING
Developed during the Chinese Tang Dynasty. Ink wash painting as in calligraphy, artists grind an ink stick over an inkstone to obtain black ink then paint by varying the ink load and pressure with a paint brush. We will also try dipping quill pens into ink and writing traditional calligraphy.

sized acrylic piece.

Using charred wood as 
a tool for drawing, shading and blending 
in B&W. Create levels of gradation by varying pressure and rotating
